Watch out. Meta is about to blow up the ad business
Meta says it will fully automate ad creation with AI by 2026.
Just a product image and budget - that's all brands will need to create complete ad campaigns on Meta platforms. Zuckerberg's vision: "a redefinition of the category of advertising.”
Here's what's coming, according to Meghan Bobrowsky's recent scoop in the Wall Street Journal:
AI will generate images, videos and text automatically
Real-time personalization based on user location and behavior
Complete budget optimization and audience targeting
End-to-end campaign management without human intervention
Why should you care? The scale is massive:
3.43 billion active users across Meta platforms
Full automation of ad creation and deployment
Dynamic content adaptation in real-time
Personalization and targeting at scale
My viewpoint:
Small and midsize companies will embrace these tools.
Larger companies and ad agencies will push back, fearing disruption.
Brand safety and creative control will be big issues for all advertisers.
I’ve been analyzing the business practices of Facebook/Meta for nearly 20 years. I have seen the company execute this exact playbook before.
No one should doubt Meta's ability to create industry-changing advertising tools.
And no one should doubt that if Meta wants companies to adopt its AI creative generation, it will make changes that will essentially force advertisers to comply.
You’ve been warned.
